Rhodes Aquarium

The Hydrobiological Station of Rhodos is in the northernmost tip of the city and operates as a Museum and Aquarium as well as a research centre of the National Centre of Marine Research. It is the most important marine research center in Greece.

The aim of the Hydrobiological Station of Rhodes is the preservation and display of embalmed and living creatures of the Mediterranean sea.

In the underground aquarium the visitors (200.000 per year) can admire:

• Specimens of anthozoa
• Molluscs (gasteropods & cephalopods)
• Species of the crab family
• Echinoderms
• Fish of various families
• Sea turtles
